MySQLrs Trapped in US 2010
Due to the ash cloud over Europe most Europeans who visited the 2010 O'Reilly MySQL conference are now left dangling in SFO area. This page is to share information on
- the volcano and canceled flights,
- where you are now and plans on having dinner together, what to do, etc.

[edit] How to pay for it?
- Check if you can get vouchers or if the flight companies will pay for your hotell, if they don't then Oracle will pay. Keep expenses reasonable.

BA has canceled all US->Euro flights on Saturday and Sunday.

- The phone numbers listed will put you in line for 160 minutes.
- According to the page the preferred way to rebook is your original travel agent. Mine is only open Euro business hours, but according to the page you can rebook also until 3 weeks after your departure date.
- Tip from Anders karlsson: If you are on Lufthansa, a number I have used is 1-888 288 9803, which doesn't seem to be widely published. I picked it up at the airport, and it has worked like a charm, with no queues to get services.

- Most Monty Program crew will continue to stay at Avatar Hotel, 4200 Great America Parkway, Santa Clara (2 miles from the Hyatt where the mysqlconf is).

- Kristian others, new flights for Wednesday or so.
- Lenz Grimmer and Jan Kneschke are staying the the Holiday Inn Express in Belmont, CA until Wednesday (hopefully).
- Several MySQLers are staying at the Hilton close to Union Square
- Mats currently scheduled for flight Wednesday to FRA
- Anders Karlsson is staying at The Pickwick Hotel in SF til Wednesday, after Wednesday at Residence Inn in San Mateo.
- Mattias Jonsson is staying at Serrano Hotel close to Union Square, rebooked to Monday (his phone: +46 702 45 91 51)
The Stratford Hotel close to Union Square, rebooked to Tuesday. - Seppo and Alex (team Galera) are staying in Maple Tree Inn, Sunnyvale for quite some time (skypes: seppo_jaakola, alexey.yurchenko to reach). Back home Apr 24, thanks to KLM and Air France. There were many empty seats.

Friday: Kai Voigt arranged a dinner in SF.
Saturday:
Henrik is wondering if it is possible to fly to San Diego and go to Mexico for a day. Realistically I will just end up having fun in SF.
- Some current and former European MySQL SE's will have dinner in San Jose / Santana Row.
- Monty and some other MPAB devs are likely to dine in SF.
- Some MySQLrs are planning dinner in Redwood Shores
Sunday:
- Henrik, Serge, Stephane spending the day in SF.
- Mats, Lars, and Mattias went on a Segway tour with City Segway Tours. Recommended.
